I am a post-doctoral researcher in history/history of science at the British School at Rome and I will spend two months in Leiden as a Brill Fellow (Scaliger Institute) between October and November 2018, or November-December 2018 (I have a negotiable starting data). I am looking for a furnished room to let (or sublet) in a shared house or small studio apartment for that period (budget: 400-500 euros pm bills incl.), possibly with duvet/pillows/linens provided as I would prefer not to have to buy them given my short stay. I am very quiet and clean and, as you might imagine, studious, so I would prefer sharing with similar people (PhD students or other ECRs) who also like having a routine. However, I also like to chat (a lot :) and meet new people, organise dinners, watch movies and swim early in the morning. I do have a partner who will soon start a post-doc in Paris and who might come to visit me two weekends (not more though, as he has weekly lab hours in Paris) during my stay in Leiden, so I am looking for a room with a double bed and whose flatmates are fine with him visiting for a limited amount of time. I would consider living in Den Haag is that proves easier, but it will have to be somewhere close to the rail station. Thank you!
